Walking home at night

Walking home at night

A Poem by Lauren..

Walking home is scary,
Look left look right,
People are not who you think they are,
We are in a dark world,
Pay attention to your surroundings.

This reads like a warning scratched onto a wall—simple, direct, and uneasy. The repetition of “look left look right” works like a nervous tick, and the plain language actually sharpens the fear instead of softening it. Sometimes saying it straight is more unsettling than dressing it up. This one keeps its eyes open.

People are people.
For bad, and for good.
Sometimes all it takes is finding the human.

Perhaps maybe we're of a different world.
I'll keep enjoying the quiet,
and the stars.

A short poem which echoes my thoughts. We live in dangerous and scary times. I would never walk anywhere at night on my own. Your poem speaks of danger, it is a warning to be on guard. There is also a metaphor here.
