the stars don't love me like they use to - 

for this i am truly sad.

they were once my friends. 

my companions. my escape.

for i wrote them songs. danced beneath their light.

told them my secrets. giving them my heart.

was that not enough?

and yet they don't even remember my name.

nay, i am now as they are - 

nameless. floating. 

i too will one day burn into nothing.

leaving dust in place of my final breath.

if only love were enough for the stars -

oh, how i loved them.
