I lust for something I'll never have

I want so badly

Through tear bleached eyes

The difference that sets me apart

 

I want to love and I want to hope

But I'm incomplete and all alone

And the bridge of connection

Has long since crumbled

Love can seem so far away. But in moment a heart can come alive again when someone reopen the heart and mind with a smile or touch of a hand.. A sad poem. Your usage of words made this a pleasure to read. I like the complete poem.

This poem definitely holds a feeling of despair. The feeling and heart is in it, but I think you could do a lot more with it. It's a bit on the general side, it tells what you're feeling and inner turmoil, but doesn't really show us. The Crocodile Tears part of the title alludes to some kind of metaphor, but the only one in this one is the crumbled bridge. This isn't bad, though. Just sit down and think about places you might want to expand on this one. However, it's yours and if it means something to you that you don't want to compromise by adding to it, let it be and don't listen to some nitpicky old b*****d like myself ;).
