Chapter 1

Lara stormed up into her room her anger building up inside her. She felt so angry that she could tear a house down. Grabbing her iPhone she would put her headphones in her ears. She turned her music up. AudioSlave. Like a Stone. Calm Lara, calm. She was taking deep breaths. Inhale. Exhale.

On a cobweb afternoon, in a room full of emptiness. By a freeway I confess, I was lost in the pages of a book full of death,

Inhale… Exhale… For some reason this song made her strangely calm. So calm that she could face the world again. She continued listening to the music, the slow bass guitar, the singers voice. So calming..
Reading how we'll die alone and if we're good we'll lay to rest anywhere we want to go.
She ignored everything around her just focusing on her breathing. This thing lurking in her body was not going to go away. She knew it. In fact, she needed to learn how to control it. It’s a monster, hiding in her body.
In your house I long to be. Room by room patiently. I’ll wait for you there like a stone; I’ll wait for you there alone.

The lyrics meant something to her, or maybe the beast inside of her.  She wanted to know what it was.  Why she had it. When she got angry, blue sparks would descend from her fingers, her hair changed colour.  Her eyes when a crimson colour and then her body would tingle all over.  She shuddered just thinking about it.
On my deathbed, I will pray to the gods and the angels like a pagan, to anyone who will take me to heaven to a place I call.
Gods. Angels.  Do they exist? Am I one? Many questions went buzzing through her head.  Sitting on the edge of her bed she would turn her neck in a circle until it cracked loudly.
I was there so long ago the sky was bruised the wine was bled and there you led me on...
There was a knock on the door. “Lara... Are you okay? It’s me Nick.”
Lara’s breath caught slightly. Nick, the guy who was super nice, good looking and actually cared for me.  Lara pulled her headphones out and got up to open the door. Opening the door she placed a smile on her face, it never quite reaching her eyes. She cocked her head to the side. “Hey Nick, how can I help?” The poor bloke looked tired as ever but always managed to produce a smile that would brighten your day. He was wearing a pair of baggy jeans and a black Slipknot shirt, his muscles always trying to make an appearance through the shirt. His hair was a light brown and in a swishy fringe to the right. No wonder he always got the girls. He’s pretty sexy.
Nick noticed her paleness and forced himself in. “Lara you aren’t looking good...” He glanced at what she was wearing. A pair of grubby grey tracksuit bottoms and a light blue strappy top.  Her black hair in a messy knot on top of her head and her make-up half down her face. It looked as if she had been crying. Nick ran his hand through his hair sighing softly.
Lara shook her head.  “I’m fine.” She said stubbornly. “It’s just a headache Nick. Honestly.”
Nick arched his eyebrow. “I’m sure it is...” He said sarcastically. Nick then walked further into her so called flat, into the kitchen he would fill up the kettle and set it to boil.
Lara cleared her throat, rubbing her temple with one hand. She looked very tired. “Nick... Don’t. I just can’t deal with your aim to always make me feel better. I just want to feel s**t.”
Nick then stepped towards her, shaking his head laughing slightly.  When there was only a slight gap in-between their bodies he muttered softly. “Lara, you don’t understand... I can’t help but to look after you.” He was looking down at her breathing steadily.
Lara was feeling small she hated when he looked down on her. She didn’t know what to say either she just shook her head. Turning on her heels she headed for her iPhone.  Pulling out her headphone she put it in her speakers. The song was on repeat and it played through the flat.
And on I read, until the day was gone. And I sat in regret of all the things I’ve done for all that I’ve blessed and all that I’ve wronged in dreams until my death I will wander on.
She then sat herself on her bed, rubbing her knees lightly. Rocking herself back and forth slightly, leaving Nick in the kitchen to sort himself out. Why does he always have to come at the times I’m in a bad mood? Suddenly Nick was there standing in front of her.  Her body felt attracted to his but she remained seated ignoring his presence. She focused on the music playing in the background.
I’ll wait for you there like a stone I’ll wait for you there, alone.
Lara shuffled further onto her bed. Then Nick knelt in front of her. “Nick..."” Before Lara said anything else he had pressed two  fingers against her lips stopping her.  He then leant forwards slightly his gaze never leaving hers. His lips stopping centimetres before hers, he was hesitating slightly.
Lara had shut her eyes, her breathing slightly ragged. Her bottom lip trembling slightly. She then moved away from him, her form rolling onto the bed, and laying there looking up at the ceiling. She shook her head slightly. “Don’t toy with my emotions Nick... ” The tone in her voice was bitter.
Nick was speechless, remaining in the position he was in, he clamped his hands onto the bed his knuckles turning white. He swiftly got up and shut his eyes tightly only managing to say “Sorry...” He turned on his heel and left the room, slamming the door shut behind him. Lara was left alone once again, processing the things that had just happened.

Chapter 2

Nick was angry with himself. He marched down the corridor to his own flat, barging past everyone. Once he got into his flat. He sat himself down on the sofa. Muttering to himself he got up and went to put on his stereo, shoving in a FooFighters CD, Pressing it 10 times till the song Everlong.
Hello, I've waited here for you, Everlong. Tonight, I throw myself into And out of the red, out of her head she sang.

Letting the lyrics sync in he decided to think things through. Okay... what was I thinking? Lara?  I should tell her that I’m sorry.  He shook his head walking to the kitchen to get himself a glass of water. When he opened the cupboard to get out a glass, there was a small copper box. He blinked a few times remembering what it was. Instead of leaving it he grabbed the box and returned to the sofa. Placing the box on the table he spoke the ancient words of power “
Iam vos volo ut patefacio. The ancient tongue was Latin. The small copper box glowed an electric blue, and for a moment Nick shut his eyes for a moment focusing on the music in the back ground.
If everything could ever feel this real forever, if anything could ever be this good again. The only thing I'll ever ask of you; you’ve got to promise not to stop when I say when. She sang. Breathe out, so I could breathe you in. Hold you in.
The lyrics meant something to him... He just didn’t know what. The box had stopped glowing and just remained on the table. Lara... Ohh Lara.  I’ve got to tell her. She’s clueless.  He then took the locket out the box. It was a small electric blue diamond with a long silver chain. This is for Lara he thought. She must have it. But I just don’t know how to give it her. She hates me now.
Nick sat down on the sofa, clutching the necklace in his hand. She’s mine. No one can have her. In his throat was a soft growl. He was obsessed with her beauty. He couldn’t let her suffer any longer. “Lara, I’m going to help you.” He turned only to see his face in the mirror. His eyes had gone crimson it was a contrast to his grass green eyes, his skin paler and his facial features turned sharper. He took a deep breath. Inhale... Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Once he was calmer he walked towards the door, opening it and marching to Lara’s flat. Once he got  to her door he didn’t even bother knocking because he knew Lara’s door was always open when she was home.

I think you've got a really great idea there! It's very interesting and you've given yourself a good start with lots of different ways to continue the story. The characters seem complex and fascinating. There are a few little grammatical and verb tense errors, but they don't take away from the story and they can all be fixed with a little proof reading. Again, good job and keep the story going!
