Hidden Hurt

Secrets guarded

Excuses made

All for someone

That continues to cause me pain

 

Shame and fear

That If I tell

My world will crumble

Or worse, they’ll think it’s a tale

 

Even now,

I’m almost 23

And I continue to cover up

The horrible things done to me

 

No more hiding or lying

The truth will not hurt others

It’s what must be done

Even if relationships get severed
