Happy For You

Happy For You

A Poem by SilentScreamingTears
"

You know that feeling when you won't be giving a promotion, again, because you're too good at what you do? Yeah.

"
Prize me
Love me
Give me rewards
Show me
How much you need me
How you adore

Put me up on a pedestal
Let me be seen by all
Given gifts and praises, admiration
You don't want to risk my rage
Then you put someone else above me; I'm tired of keeping this face

Happy for you
Celebrating
Have a feast now
And Famine without me

Your Oracles have seen the truth
A future of prosperity
Where you don't have to worship me
Which I never asked of you

Human naive fell to greed
Thought it wise to wise to rid of me
Gleaming eyes that paid no heed
To the disaster coming on
Which I could've saved you from

Happy for you
Celebrating
Have a feast now
And Famine without me

All I asked was 'be a friend'
You idolized then disrespected
So I take my Exodus
And I leave you with this

You think you've won a victory
Giving in to greed
Your loss will come as swiftly
As you wiped my pedestal clean
Closer and closer False wealth you glean Fool's path you wander But it's my delight Demise in the trap that I Warned I'd forseen
