what if you and I were angels
we can do anything we want
we can go back in time to the 1800's
and what if I asked you...
miss Joline would you do
me the pleasure of accompanying me
to the barn dance saturday night
i can tell by the instant smile on your face
you have been waiting for me to ask
you say yes yes yes
at the barn dance
everyone is having a wonderful time
they do not realize
that amongst them
there are two angels swirling around

Barn dances conjure up laughter, happiness and fun. I can't think of a nicer way to spend a Saturday evening going back in time, to days before more modern opportunities to meet came on the scene. Your poem painted very lively images in my mind. I like the idea of time travel Jeff.

Such a touching, lovely piece! You really won it over when you added that ‘1800’s’ touch. I love so much that you added in ‘barn’ to dance. Something about a party in a barn, tons of people dancing around and smiling, is just so fun and magical. The thought of such a warm, friendly party that you envisioned here, it’s truly a heartwarming, fun poem. Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s such a calming piece.

I think I might cry! That is so touching, so heartfelt and honest. Swirling in and out among the happy couples, the whine of the fiddle rising above the colorful crowd, weaving in and out of flying straw and bits of cornsilk. Outside, a harvest moon hangs above the barn, waiting with the stars to walk the happy angels home...
