Summer Child

Summer Child

A Poem by Lucas Djaroyan

Oh sweet itty-bitty Polly,
Reveling in callow folly;
Humming tunes of utter cheer,
To a sky so brilliant and clear.

With her technicoloured lolly
And a puerile chortle full of jolly,
She basks in balmy August heat;
So adorable and wholly sweet.

Her cheeks are red as holly,
And her linen dress is collied;
She is the summer's rowdy child,
Coruscating free and wild.
