Words

A Poem by Luminous Lynx
"

Words should be said with care and love because what you say is heard whether on purpose or not, so be purposeful with your words.

"
The wind blows and the leaves sway,
words are spoken that come our way.
Yet while invisible, unlike the wind,
the effects of words are not seen from the outside but only from within.
While idle in their intention,
words can cause the heart pain, dissention at their mere mention.
You may not see the effects outwardly,
but inside that person's whole world may crumbling quietly.
The world of a child in the hopes their parents would acknowledge a silly painting,
but to them they worked on diligently in love thinking and concentrating.
The world of a friend thinking of another inviting them to a party,
but instead of just them their friend thought "it's fine I can just bring another" defiantly.
The friend who invited the one was left sad and broken,
watching the friend who was invited spend more time with the other just on their phone, no words shared or spoken.
The world of a lover who just wants the idle "I love you's,"
to be filled with real love behind them and choose the vow kept from the "I do's."
Love is patient, love is kind, love endures all things, hopes all things,
love is not self-seeking or insists on its own way, love is a choice, ring or no ring, not bought with shiny blings. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
Love is what matters in our words that can help build up someone's whole world,
a world where they are valued, cherished, and loved no matter what comes their way, where the truth is unfurled.
Instead of sticks or stones, hurtful accusations, slandering someone's good name, or conclusions being jumped to.
But instead be slow to anger and endure with your friends and loved ones; that is real love that should be cherished and held onto. (James 1:19)
The power of life and death is in the tongue, (Proverbs 18:21)
it doesn't matter if you were just joking or just having fun. (Ephesians 5:4)
So unfurl the banner of truth that unites instead of divides,
for every idle word will be judged, so stand firm in the face of adversity so lies and slander will not be your demise. (Matthew 12:36)
Unless you be of your father the devil!
Being instead a brood of vipers, evil in all you say and no good in you, who only speak lies, bringing death and destruction in every way possible. (Matthew 12:34)
For it is from the heart that one will speak, (Luke 4:45)
If God is truly your father and Christ is truly the Lord of your heart, then goodness, empathy, being tender-hearted, forgiving as Christ forgave you, shall naturally instead overflow as rivers of life from your innermost being depart from you for all who are around you, for both the strong and the weak. Encouraging and edifying others, being kind, self-controlled, and meek. (Ephesians 4:32) (John 7:38) (Ephesians 4:39) (1 Thessalonians 5:11) (Romans 14:9) (Hebrews 10:24) (Galatians 6:2) (Galatians 5:22-24) (Matthew 5:9)
You think your words are harmless all fun and games,
but God is not having fun and laughing with you, to your shame.
It doesn't matter if you meant well either.
Discernment is knowing when to speak and when to listen, not being a beater.
You cannot serve two masters, for you will hate one and love the other. (Matthew 6:24)
Choose today whom you serve, serving him by serving the least of these, lest you be a liar and the love of God not be in you, dearly, as a sister or a brother. (Joshua 24:15) (Matthew 25:40) (1 John 4:20) (Psalm 133:1) (1 Peter 1:22) (Romans 12:10) (Hebrews 13:1) (1 Thessalonians 4:9)
For God did not send his Son, the word made flesh, into the world to condemn the world, but to save through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (John 1:14) (John 3:17-18)
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, by which you received and in which you stand firm, and by which you are being (present tense) saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain, Jesus Christ the Holy One. (1 Corinthians 15:1-2)
Do not count yourself more highly than you ought to,
but think of yourself with sober judgment. (Romans 12:3)
Lest you grieve the Holy Spirit who sealed you unto the day of redemption, whom you must cling and hold fast onto. (Ephesians 4:30)
Putting away all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander, along with every form of malice. (Ephesians 4:31)
Lest your eyes turn from him and you run back to the mire, trading instead your righteous garments or robes of justice for the filthy rags of your sin. (Isaiah 64:6) (Job 29:14)
Eyes that once were fixed on him, King Jesus, his saving grace alone, and a mind set above toward God's Heavenly kingdom and royal palace. (Matthew 22:11-12) (Hebrews 12:2)
(Colossians 3:2)
