An ode to the child in me - you cannot cry

An ode to the child in me - you cannot cry

A Poem by Lila
"

This poem is me speaking to my younger self. I talk to her telling her that yes, youre young now and you want to grow up, but very soon you will be wishing you could live your child life forever.

"
You cannot cry…you do not know what sadness is,

You cannot complain..for you do not know pain,

Stop whining…stop pouting and shouting at the top of your lungs cause soon you won’t have any air left in you,

You will be silent…at a loss for words because you're stuck on the way your lips move through the tiring motions of talking,

Please…do not ask to grow up…cause one day you will be wishing you were young once more,

It’s too late now,

Only 16 with the rest of your life laid out in front of you…unorganized and scattered like the puzzles pieces you used to not quite put together without asking someone for help,

Help…help is what you need now but you cannot ask cause you feel like there is no one around you that would understand,

Where did the time go when you didn’t have to know what was in the future ahead?

Now that time is gone…away like the wind in the empty abyss that you now call home,

So please…you cannot cry now because trust me soon you will run out of tears
