just one more timeA Poem by Lydia Shutter
foreclosing on the fun house
of life lightning illuminates the
dismal sky sunset should be hours away but now plaintive booms of
thunder re-adjust life‘s clock hibiscus petals fly now defiled
by pre-storm air they land - stigmatized - on
a now dampened porch tree limbs sway akimbo beckoning
me through raindrops willing my dreams to dance in
the rain even if with the lowest
common denominator of hope just one more time
