a forever part

a forever part

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by barbara haviland

in a moment of intense clarity
          clouds
inseminated with joy
                   smile
knowing secrets
only the wet grass of a summer morning
can share
intriguing you say?

as the sun swallows what is left of the night

i realize the sheet music
is gloriously engraved in my psyche
oh, but i will never sing the lyrics
because the point, mon amour, is
there really is no point at all
we shall always share the clarity
the sweet knowledge
of that day
the day passion took control
and you became
a forever part of my life

"A forever part of my life..." We take on every
parcel of another person's life. We become best
friends. The reward is worth the effort...
from beginning to present...
" as the sun swallows what is left of the night",
We will taste the fruit of each new day.
truly, Pat

Lydi, you so easily and wondrously "engrave" the love and passion in your heart to ours with poems like this... "the point, mon amour, is really there is no point..." and yet we discover over and over again they have become THE point, a "forever part of my life"... love the way this is elegantly spoken Lydi...

I also like how you have emphasized (italicized) parts of the poem and was wondering if I might suggest italicizing the last line as well??? just seemed like the title suggests a key part of the poem...

love the, "knowing secrets
only the wet grass of a summer morning
can share" wonderful lines wish I would have said this... but Lydi the whole poem is just "gloriously engraved" and oh so "nice"...

Weird minds need to express their thoughts! :)
So beautifully said. "Clouds sharing those wet secrets with the grass" the "sun swallowing what is left of the night" and the sheet music engraved in my psyche oh, but i will never sing the lyrics"
O, this is so classical.
When one becomes a part of the other there is really no need for words for the songs and the lyrics are forever there.

Indeed, my friend. Thank you so much for the review. Lydi**
i love the idea of clarity clouded over by smiles...as long as the clarity is shared within, it doesn't need to be that clear...love never is...we just accept it, and feel it....and the lyrics are sung by the heart.
