once upon a time

you held my hand once upon a time

when the world viewed me 

with flaccid indifference

and i felt lost in the translation

you reached for me

through crevices of desire

i bathed in your words

cradling your message

unbuttoning long clothed emotions

this afternoon my tongue once again

tasted your words

and i admitted to my innermost self

it wasn't just once upon a time

you will hold my hand until forever
