And Xun’s gone again

Ch 19

Yu’Luo rushed into the Emperor’s room. Leng Zai’s room, her reminded himself. “Xun’s entered the palace!” He cried, expecting the Emperor to rush into action at the news.

“What?” The Emperor asked, “How did she get in without being noticed?”

“She just showed them her badge and walked in, apparently,” Yu’Luo replied. 

The Emperor’s brow wrinkled as he thought. “It could be a trap,” he muttered to himself. “If the King of the Merfolk has figured out how important she is to me he could use her as a hostage. This makes things more complicated.” He turned back to the window, once more deep in thought.

Yu’Luo watched him for signs of action, but when nothing else happened he closed the door quietly. If the Emperor wouldn’t protect his cousin, he and his brother would.
