Hear Me

Hear Me

A Poem by Mark Raines
"

A soul becomes part of the plutonium night sky

"
So hear me now, though I am dust once more,
My soul, a flame that flickered, slow to cease"
It fades beneath the weight of time’s fierce score,
Yet rises upward in a bright release.
From hollow earth to night’s electric breath,
The dust ascends where nothingness might lie.

Behold! The plutonium sky conceals no death,
But alchemy of loss that crafts new light"
Each speck transformed beyond its former death,
Igniting stars that pierce the boundless night.

O listen close: my spirit’s not confined,
In cosmic dance, my essence is enshrined.
