Christmas Isn't What It Was

"
Christmas Isn't What It WasnnVerse 1nIn the glow of a neon town, the snow is pixel-sweet,nCarols loop on a screen that never skips a beat.nThe scent of pine floats through a air of silicon and chrome,nWe gather ’round the globe, but wonder where to call home.nnVerse 2nGifts arrive with instant rain, thumbs scroll to say hooray,nWe link our hearts in likes and tags, but words feel far away.nOld tales tucked in photo albums, now online in a stream,nWe search for the old magic in a world that moves like a dream.nnChorusnChristmas isn’t what it was, the bells sing a different tune,nWe chase the ghosts of quiet nights beneath a cyber moon.nBut if we pause a moment, let the laughter rise and fall,nMaybe love will light the room and mend us through it all.nnBridgenLet’s unplug the noise for a breath, listen to the snow’s soft signs,nShare a story by the firelight of memories we design.nWe don’t have to give up new, just keep the simple near,nThe season lives in kindness, and that is crystal clear.nnChorus (final)nChristmas isn’t what it was, yet it shines when we choose,nTo lay down our screens and open up the truth we use.nTurn off the glow for a while, and we’ll see what’s true,nThat Christmas is what we make it"me, you, me and you.nnOutronWhat it was or wasn’t, it’s ours to redefine,nThis Christmas, we write the story line by line."
