ClairvoyanceA Poem by MADAMA poem about a girl gifted with clairvoyance (the ability to see the future) and her fate
Clairvoyance
I had the gift of clairvoyance But with privilege comes debt The world of hungry faces met with me and asked me for meaning They were desperate for the truth But I wasn't god I sent them away and they fought back They called me selfish and greedy But the truth cannot be given out so lightly Of course only I knew that The clueless masses harassed me and called me god They prayed to no avail as I did not change I would not tell them The price for knowing the truth is hatred The hatred of those that are jealous I was not god so my heart began to crumble and tear As my sanity began to break I stood among the crowd and shouted lies I told the misfortunes that they would soon reach happiness I told the fortunate of misery to surprise them in the future with relief But as the future rolled around They called me liar They doubted and kicked at me I laid in a pool of depression I gave people hope and they repaid me with death I reached up to the sky I saw the blue bird mocking me from afar My future was told to be miserable And I knew it would end like this I had the rights to my fate And I was tied down by a silver string And I rotted to the core © 2014 MADAMAuthor's Note
