What is much left to the world when you've got the sun warming your skin and your favourite book at hand?

A good Summer Novel

 

While the sun is shining down

And girls search for some appropriate dressing gown

I wonder what it would be like

To go on a long bicycle ride.

 

Rushing the streets, free like a bird

Just a happy noise could be heard.

But instead I’m half asleep in a chair

And just some music is in the air.

 

A good book, an old story

And nothing right now for me to worry

But the characters feelings and the plot

I know and love a lot of lot.

 

What is better than being drawn into the pages?

Even when it’s a novel I’m familiar with for ages.

Nothing, I believe, ‘cause it’s a place where happiness we can receive.

I hope that I’m not alone with this inspiration

That many people are caught in admiration.

 

Author's Note

So this is my hymn on summer and reeding which I am going to do in a few seconds.... ahh the sun is trying to make me run outside as soon as possible so I just skip the usual advises about forgetting the grammer etc.

Just enjoy my poem and then leave your computer to be happy outside at the fresh air! You can thank me later in a comment for such a splendid idea ^^

That's enough of narcissm for today, I think.

while sun shinning down and Rushing the streets, free like a bird ... very captive lines. you are right many people caught in admiration though they know whats in next verse or page but the peace they get cant be replaceable. I think more you read the more u are caught in . Brilliant put here

I am glad you think so and thank you for your comment's Content. The book I was reading was Pride and Prejudice and although I know the storyline by heart I can't stop reading it. It's some Kind of fascinating Magic with books... LG The Secret Writer
