Spending this day in a friend's battlefield, channeling peace, home now, relief.
Heart open
Rose unfolding
A petal falls to my feet
Dewdrops on
The bud and leaves
So quiet there
Where the rose breathes
At rest
Finally
A day of armor
And spiritual shields
All drop away
Swords to plowshares
Planting in good soil
Palpable peace
Where once the blood of battle fell
New earth, tilled, fragile seeds
Golden light envelopes the rose
Healed from dis-ease
Free to blossom, glisten, grow
Heart open
Source of my being
Abide with me
I felt my heart opening in a new way today, with tears of compassion, prayers for mercy, even before I visited my friends. I carried peace into the battlefield, defenseless. They responded with vulnerability and gratitude, and the source of my being was able to bring them a day of peace. The rose in my heart blossomed after I left- I felt it grow, open, glisten with light. Tonight I can sleep well, a good day complete.

my dad did this once with my uncle and aunt...they were staying with us...he had wandered, the mediator
stepped in, it was a long haul...but peace was not temporary, it lasted until my uncle passed away.
sometimes that third party can bring reason to the battlefield and create a lasting truce.
nicely done

Today we travel to a getaway in gualala- it has been a hard week- another poem describes a failed attempt in Marital Minefields. I am grateful for the chance to try again, this time surrounded by grace and informed from what is beyond my own power and ideas. Thank you for relating to this from your experience, and your kind review.
Sometimes our interference in such marital affairs of others can bring peace, there are no guarantees that it will happen but with the grace of God, there is always a chance of succeeding... Your poem stands like an armor of God, projecting the efforts of a person to bring peace through the calm and graceful ways of God... Your poems are always so very thought provoking... Pleasure to be here...
