Fear lived in that darkness

Fear lived in that darkness

A Poem by Maclawrence Famuyiwa

Fears lived in that darkness
Only the dark sky whispered their presence
Nothing argued with the silence

New night birthed another scare
Our hearts jumped out to welcome it
That darkness consumed them whole

Thunder then struck the sky
Silhouettes of danger danced in the scare
Meanwhile, death walked rather slow

That was our saving grace
We ran till our breath nearly ceased
Our heartbeats continued to race
