Chapter (31) AIRCREW. Tears are in my eyes.A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMANWRITTEN AS A TRIBUTE TO BRAVE 90 YEAR OLD LADY I MET THIS MORNING. 28/09/2014AFTER A CAR HOME START THIS MORNING I HAD TO WRITE THIS. I HOPE YOU WILL LIKE IT. I CALL IT: ![]() AIRCREW. I had a job this morning To fix a ladys' car. One of the last, of the few Who fought the last great war. Standing in her drive way Tears are in my eyes, As she recalls her memories Her eyes turned to the skies She tells of crews in Lancasters Their job to light the way. Bomb on the green, Pathfinder cries And they did it night and day. She tells of men so bold and young These selfless boys so brave. No thoughts of why they do this On their journey to the grave. The Merlin engines throbbing drone Transport these crews through cloud, For many their last, most costly flight In a flying metal shroud. It was an honour for me to meet This aged woman brave. And we should still salute them all For the sacrifice they gave.
