Chapter (34) I LIKE SUNDAYSA Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMANAS WE AGE OUR MEMORIES CAN BE A SOURCE OF COMFORT AND SECURITY.![]() I LIKE SUNDAYS It's early morning of a new day dawning and I lie alone in my bed. No no no my wife's not dead, she left. I put my hands behind my head, and as I stare at the ceiling, I get this..... feeling that, I like Sundays. I don't know why, I, like Sundays. Well, yes I do, it's because, when I was small the church bells rang and we all sang, and praised the lord. But today there is no bell, no stories of heaven and hell. No children play in the streets today, and cry with joy, but even so, I... like Sundays. And as I stare without a care, no smell of bacon wafts up the stair, no birds are singing, no church bells ringing. I'm warm in bed and it's ALL in my head, and I smile, because, I still like Sundays.
