Chapter (5) MORNING SUNLIGHT

MORNING SUNLIGHT

Morning Sunlight through the curtain streams,

And I from slumbers, and uncertain dreams

Awake.

The empty pillow, unruffled, unused,

My mind, micro seconds bemused.

Another day I feel the pain,

Another day I have to endure again,

Alone.

Our love had died, and she,

Wishing no longer by my side to be,

Had found another.

A house, void of love becomes nothing more,

A place to eat, to rest then close the door

Against the world.

Empty spaces now in my life, in my soul, in my heart,

Space to think, to wonder why we had to part.

Does love really die?

I am strong, I was dejected,

Each day, hiding feeling so rejected,

So unexpected.

Your pillow lays bathed in morning light,

I know I shall see you again, tonight,

In my dreams.

And Tomorrow...
Another day I'll feel the pain,
Another day I have to endure again,
Alone.

Is there anything more lonely, than a house once filled with love? You wrote this from your heart...and it resonates through every line. I feel your loneliness, and pain...and I wish I could erase the depth of it.

It wasn't an easy write. I still feel the pain ten years later.

Heartbreaking write M.E.
What's more heartbreaking is that the speaker didn't even see it coming.

On the reading of the poem I felt it might be better ended with perhaps a reprise of the lines
(And Tomorrow...)
