Chapter (1) HAVE YOU SEEN MY SOCKS MUM?

Chapter (1) HAVE YOU SEEN MY SOCKS MUM?

A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN

Have you seen my socks Mum?

I’ve been searching everywhere.

They’re not inside my cupboard,

They’re not lying on the stair.

I know I had them yesterday,

I was playing in the dirt.

I took them off and threw them,

In the same place as my shirt.

Mum looked in all the places,

I usually throw my stuff.

She looked beneath my bed,

Where I like to keep my fluff.

My mum said “Phewww”, and held her nose,

She’d found my socks, I couldn’t speak.

Mum said. “I think you need some clean ones,

You’ve had these on for a week.”

I love it! I'm so delighted to find a writer of good children's verse! I can relate to this poem, both as a child who was a terrible mess, and as the mother of boys, who were, if anything, even worse! The imade of a little boy playing in the dirt, and them discarding filthy laundry into a corner where it never belonged is so real, relatable, and endearing. The poor mum! Stinky socks!

I can tell! It's brilliant!
Spot on, even if you can't see them, you can follow the whiff. :))

That is so true. I don't know if girls are the same. Probably not.
Yep… boys. Why is that such a universal theme with boys? This is as entertaining as it is true! :D

It's what we do. My mum always used to say, whistle and they'll come on their own.
