Something More.

This is the best song I've written yet. Done back in December 2009, but I might as well bring it here. Not only are the lyrics powerful, but the message is one of heart-felt truth. Please enjoy!

All around me
The world loves vanity
Everywhere I go
There are those of high quality

Beautiful, they call them
Like gods and goddesses
Like statues that cannot break
And it seems to me like maybe
I'm not worthy...

Yet deep down, I am beautiful
This is not something to question
I stand as who I really am
Unique in my own way

Judge me not by my looks
But how I am on the inside
For I can be just as graceful
As amazing, as passionate
Because I am worthy

This is not perfection
Not you, not me, not anyone or anything
But despite this, we are beautiful
Inside and out
Believe me, I have flaws
Yet they make me who I am
And I will not deny
That I am something more

You've seen the posters, ads and billboards
Of what they describe as beautiful
Don't you think it's condescending
That they never want any less?

Glorious, they call them
Like kings and queens
Like masterpieces fresh on the canvas

You don't exist...

it's true that it is wats on the inside that counts. great opoem ansd it is so true. i wonder why it's our human nature to just look at someone's looks and that's it. Though i have to admit i am guilty of that at times. Great poem! it reminds me of my story "mirror of lies." ^^

* oh and wif the songysong maybe it could be made into a 2 part song, ish long enough and adding in the instrumental goodies can make it into two complete songs that have the same intertwined plotsie because of the RAINBOWIES =D
