Scorching                  

Charring

Flaring                                          

Flickering

Singeing    

Smoldering                 

Flaming     

Blazing…

I doubt meant it this way, but to me this comes across as how many others live their lives - with disregard for the destruction (big or small) they leave behind. And from one point of view, that is totally acceptable, it still means you are living life and that is the most important thing. And those others can figure out their own problems.
