Nothing to Give

Nothing to Give

A Poem by Madeline

empty heart with an empty head
existing to exist no ulterior motive
letting words flow into the pen
emotionless stream of ink sliding down the page
line after line after pointless line
the emptiness engulfs
laying seige to every part of me
no joy no sorrow
no love no hate
a vacuum of eternal proportions
flying straight into the heart of a paradox
with nothing to give
the words continue to pour forth
attempting to prove they have worth

Author's Note

Madeline
This is somewhat of a free-verse sonnet, if there is such a thing. Do you think it works?
