In the darkest corner

With love sometimes comes pain...

 

 Oh how I prayed

On bended knee I stood

For what seemed like eternity

For what my heart so craved.

 

Your touch...Soft

Your lips...Inviting

Your heart...Open

Your warmth..So needed.

 

In the darkness I reached out..

 

My hand shaking

I quiver

My heart beating so

For what you could not give.

 

For now I know this is so..

 

The mind is a funny thing

When we want it to be so

This I found

For now my mind is sound.

 

Oh but those days of yesterday

My what have I become

A creature lurking in the darkness

Only in the darkest corner.

 

Was my love to ever show..

 

For there you took it freely

Yet others could not know

Sinful and shame

And only then...

 

Did my hatred start to grow..

 

Yes... In the darkest corner

Stood our love..

 

A love that was never shown..

Oh but with love.. there is bound to be some pain. In the highest moments .. love is such an inspiration and seemly pure bliss... then as you found.. on one knee.. the denial and rejection that can also come with it! Sadly.. you should not have to bow down on a knee to know love! Another who loves deeply will not allow you to go to such lengths to shame yourself if they held any love at all.. if they intended to belittle you or leave you in shame. I loved the honesty and depth of this piece.. love is so many things.. to so many people.. in the darkest corner stands a love.. to never be shown.. very sad! I hope you find love.. but as most find it.. it just happens or it doesn't.. it can't be searched for... just grown over time. Thank you so much for sharing! Truly loved this one.. the feeling of rejection .. can come in so many forms. =)

Amazing work again, this poem spoke volume. Someone too ashamed to admit the love they feel for someone else. Leaving that person in the darkness even though they know that the love will set that other person free. Such pain that comes with loving someone that isnt right for you. Great job again on the new poem.
