Showers, customs, in labour, docile

Showers, customs, in labour, docile

A Poem by Maglia Weaver Twill
"

I thought about titling this Virtuous Hex because it is 6 lines stanzas but the acrostics a mnemonic for those who want to study, myself I do, title not seeming fitting

"

Diamonds are made of a single element.
Owing to an evil hex, the unlocked
Charm is cast away from me.  The spell broken.
Carbon has gone from black to clear crystalline.
I have this garnet and a silver band I bought.
A shower of rain has washed away agreement.

Duty free customs, I don’t understand.
Occasions, the coming holidays, in red and
Green, quickly seasons come and go, I see
An distant time when I bought our stockings.
Never-never land was not a place I had visited.
Almost too happy we wrote our names in glitter.

During the brief time I was in labor, I
Optioned for no pain medication, except
Grasping the hand of the man, I panicked.
Liaisons of nurses and technicians
Instigated inoculation, the doctor
Entertained his scalpel, then needle & thread.

Docile women, that’s what they want, I guess.
Of course, I don’t know always, except I
Can imagine it varies, I need to
Inaugurate the broom.  I won't today.  When?
Left there from a week of crumbs...
Eventually we put on hats and gloves.
