Sympathy for the AngelA Poem by Mahlo MetsysSlightly religious, but more so sympathetic. An angel doesn't always have to be a biblical entity, but also as a person who believes in sacrifice. Our souls need such saving, but why is it so? These choices confront us and blindly we go Imperfect creatures with a longing for glee Is it a curse that our souls are so free? Answer our prayers and we’ll just pray for more Deny our desires and we’ll then slam the door Yet you’re always there waiting for our next time of need No matter the sympathy, you will save us from greed In the dirt on the earth, keep us wet when we’re dry Then return to your place in the stars where you cry. © 2014 Mahlo MetsysAuthor's Note
