A Glass Smile
A Poem by
Just Manoosh
Written pre deletion day. September 2007.
For the Venetian mask whom I adore, for myself who I abhor
A Glass Smile
She plans, maps, builds,
Her barricade.
She dreams, day, night,
Her Masquerade.
She cries, silent, lone,
Her temperance.
She wants, prays, fears,
Her deliverance.
… How elaborate her mask.

you forgot the most important part of her mask... Hope, Dignity, Beauty, Courage... those are a part of her mask as well, my dear Manoosh..

I also like the title to this piece. The depth of this piece is really amazing. Her mask, making her, hiding her, being her. Very beautiful.

The formatting and flow of this is marvelous. :)
I really like the title, glass, see-through, almost a fake smile that could shatter in the moment. Delicate, easy to break, but would slice someone easily.
Great concept!

This poem speaks volumes of the pretense that every thing is all right as we go about our daily business. It seems we are on the same page. I am working on a poem about walls erected to protect our hearts. Hopefully it will be half as good as this one. Really do like this!

I like this in a twisted sense. I'm not gonna get all psyco-babble on you but I like the conflict she has. Make a mask and then beg for someone to take it off. That's just my take. Very tense.

Sometimes the mask can be nessecary to heal, to hide away and protect ourselves from pain.
A very strong write, emotional and gave me a very lonely feeling.
She plans, maps, builds,
Her barricade.
She dreams, day, night,
Her Masquerade.
Problem is, no one can keep that mask on forever!
I love your work and thoughts.
