These are the hands of King David

Dirty, strong, and gentle
Your hands grasp a staff
Guiding the sheep to pasture
An oasis satisfying a thirsty lamb
Why do they love you so?
It is all that they need.

Young, thick, and tan
Your hands wrestling with wolves
Returning the sheep to pasture
An oasis sheltering a frightened lamb
Why to they love you so?
It is all that they need.

Smooth, powerful, and graceful
Your fingers run the strings
Playing the music to sooth a troubled mind
An oasis for the mighty king
Why do they love you so?
It is all that they need.
