fitful sleepings part three

fitful sleepings part three

A Poem by Marcus Mckenzie

seeing a mushroom cloud close up,
that's a problem
finding humour in others' failures,
that's a problem
huffing and tutting at all the world's wrongs
is likely a problem, too, but
feeling the glow at 9 a.m. is not
(maybe it is, opinions vary)
nowhere's the last resort, so go there
if you dare

gallons of rubbing alcohol flow through the strip
perry ellis' city of stars falling from my eyes
is a pretty bit of nothing
akin to those silk rags i use
to visit temporary dimensions

invitations arrive 'return to sender'
