This Could Be You

Written while I was in high school in response to teen suicide of 3 classmates

C 1989

There are times when you seem all alone;
and there are times when no one is home.

There are certain people you need to talk to,
just like I am here, talking to you.

There are friends who seem to worry about you;
but sometimes those friends don’t understand you.

There are parents who seem not to care;
but there are parents who answer prayers.

There are teachers who try to teach you;
but see, they can’t even reach you.

There are teenagers who stand together;
but there are teens they bury forever.

There are addicts who are down and blue;
and see, this addict could be you.

For there are parents, teachers and friends;
who will love and help you until the end.

So, when you’re sitting around with nothing to do;
just picture this:  THIS COULD BE YOU.

i really like this a lot i love the ending makes it powerful at least to me when you make something personal to the reader it really stands out more. I like your writing this was another good one.
