Our ChildrenA Poem by MarilynTWhat do we want for these children we create. Children who live within our minds but are only words, sentences, and paragraphs of a single dimension black and white world. We want them to be read, for in reading they receive life, are loved, and sometimes hated. The blood of our soul pours out in endless lines of ink as we write their lives, their stories. But that blood is not enough to sustain them for they are like vampires gaining strength and life from the countless eyes who draw them inside minds. They are not meant to sit on the shelf to gather the dust of centuries. They need the nourishment that comes from beng appreciated, from being read and re-read until the words on the pages are faded but imprinted upon the mind. © 2008 MarilynT |
