Excited

Excited

A Poem by Martiya Daman
"

My favorite days :)

"
Excited
I leapt out of my bed,
Out my father said,
"You can have anything to eat today",
I happily shouted, "Hurray!"

I asked my dad to make noodles,
I also wanted spinach strudels,
Out he tossed them in the saucepan,
Hid the tomatoes before he can.

Boiling hot water,
Added spices and powder,
Noodles span round and round,
Smells speeded around.

At the end, tasty noodles,
Shaped in doodles,
I ate them in a gulp,
With tea in my cup.

Author's Note

Martiya Daman
Sometimes on cheat days, when my mom wasn't around, my dad would cook Maggi (Famous noodles of India) for me. I loved them very much. And with this poem, I describe it.

This is light and frivolous, whilst also revealing a genuine fondness with your father. Clearly, you have a warm bond; and appreciate his cooking skills lol.

By coincidence, I recently enjoyed a Thai meal at a local restaurant in Belper; where assorted noodle options were very much on the menu lol.

For some reason, your recent "read request" has vanished from my list. Feel free to resend it to me, Martiya. I would have reviewed it sooner, if I had felt sufficiently inspired. Best wishes.
