CHAPTER 3: EVOLIAN EMPIRE

CHAPTER 3: EVOLIAN EMPIRE

A Chapter by Martiya Daman

What is that sound in the closet, mom?” A sweet, silent voice came outside.

“Must be nothing, just go to bed.” A thump on a door was heard. Dina started getting shivers down the spine. She stuck her back to the side of the closet. Then whoosh! The closet started opening slightly, seeming to be with curiosity. A white girl, with wings, and an angelic voice opened it. “MOMMMM, IT’S- A DEMON, AGAIN!!!” She shouted at the top of her lungs seeing the bloody Dina.

Her mom rushed to the room and saw the open closet and the creature inside with a golden bow. “Aside Kiddo, I’ll get the job done.” “Aunty- Please- Please- spare me.” Dina said shivering, wiping the blood from her. “Where are your wings, and what are you doing in our closet?” Her mom said.

“Well, as I- as I-,” she started to explain. “What do you mean by having wings? And how do you have wings? I think, I fainted, and I fell down some hole in an abandoned place and just landed in this closet? Please spare me, I will do anything.”

“Oh, I get it, you are a human! Of course you don’t have wings. I am Miss Mary, the queen of the Evolian Empire, the angelic empire, nice to meet you. That is my daughter, Ria.” Said Mary. “What is your name?” Ria tilted her head and asked curiously. “Dina is my name. How did you all get wings by the way?”

“Well, there was once a time there was a flood in our place, to avoid more destruction, we started collecting the sliver water and molding them with feathers and went for the witch’s help. She somehow made them alive, and we wore them. Now they have become a part of our body. ‘We are angels and are better than humans because we can fly.” Explained Mary. “What do you mean by sliver water?” Dina asked. “Ours is transparent.”

“Oh, it is just our water but tastes the same. I know it because once I was sent to the real world as a punishment before I was a queen and got a taste of it.” Mary said. “Punishment?”

“Yes, if we stay in the outside world for about one year, we die. I returned one day earlier secretly and have been hidden in the weeping empire for thirty years. When they found me, the princess, they all started rejoicing and I became the queen. You need some water, Dina? I’ll get medical help. I’ll get some food as well.”
