The Bird Who Taught Skies Magic

The Bird Who Taught Skies Magic

A Poem by Martiya Daman

The moon forgot her name last night,
So the stars whispered it back in time.
A cloud tried to draw dreams,
But the wind kept blowing them.

Somewhere, a clock ticked anticlockwise,
And time sighed,
“Not again.”
And then it cried.

The fluffy clouds sadly whispered,
"Clock go clockwise!" said that bird,
Confused, the clock went anti again,
No, clockwise, amen!

Finally, it was right, the wind sighed,
"Sliver moon, anything for you to say?"
"The sun is always late..." replied.
Everybody was annoyed all the time.

Stars stopped twinkling, moon was down,
Clock’s hands stopped, clouds stopped in the town.
Wind stopped her whispers, everyone forgot who they were,
Nobody felt at all in any verse.

The only smiling one, the only chirping one,
It was the bird, and he was going to tell how to get the job done.

He told the sun, to rise,
Now the moon says, “Nice!”
He dropped a rose in front of the clock,
Now right does it rock!
He blows into the air,
And now wind flew, aware,
Flewed the clouds, and now space for stars,
They twinkled and said, “No bars!”

The sun came out, everyone smiled,
As the bird gave all of them might,
The sun was never late, the wind was always aware,
Clouds made dreams, twinkling stars through the air.

This is a wonderfully whimsical and imaginative poem. It reads like a fable, blending surreal imagery with a gentle moral about renewal and harmony. I quite enjoyed reading this piece.
