I Ate The Apple

I Ate The Apple

A Poem by Honey-Bee

I Ate The Apple
Because I was told
I would be just like God
On a throne of Gold

Wisdom would be my sister
And knowledge my bed
I would be crowned with beauty
And a trail of gold would be spread

I listened to the serpent
Who played a recording in my head
As Adam lay beneath the tree
Dreaming of a bed

My mouth began to water
Imagination took a hold
I dreamed I was a goddess
A lovely queen to behold

I thought the serpent kind
To tell me of such things
He flirted with my mind
And showed me of his wings

I would sit upon a throne
And be just like God
Knowing good from evil
And angels would applaud

This poem is beautifully written! The imagery, emotion, and mythic depth are incredible. You captured temptation and inner conflict with such elegance every line feels alive. Truly captivating work!

I enjoyed the tale. Those naysayers snakes can trick up. I like the story and the want to sit next to God. Good to read your words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A sad story indeed. How did a serpent get into Eden anyway?
