THIS CALM LOVE

so many years together
sharing our lives
we are two boats
sailing in the same ocean

on different waves

my waves are high and dangerous
I rise with my boat in high seas
puncture waves ... laugh loud
I hit my head on the rocks
I want emotion!

 

your waves are low and stable

you navigate your boat

look straight into the horizon

landscape without changes

plan your route

run away from waves

want reason!

 

so we are

two different boats

in the same ocean

once in a while

you wave from afar

showing you are there

when I need

 

you watch my quest

from afar

with your serene way

and I go, walk, run, return

but my port of arrival

is always your wave

you are my rock

my safe place

my port

my destiny

 

I’m your island

a stop to rest

the necessary oasis

your insanity

Author's Note

Once I told my husband I would make a poem about our love and relationship. And I made this one. He said that this poem is just perfect when describes our relationship. We have been married for 32 years. And we were born same day, month and year.... This is why I really believe in soulmates....
