What if I died?A Poem by MasonIt simply occurred to me: what if I died?
What if I died?
What if I died? What if I died? What if I died? This question plagues my mind, I can not shake this thought, Because what would happen, If I were stabbed or shot? If I were ill and fallen, By some disease, were taken? What would I do, What could I do, Were I to be forsaken? "What if I died?" Echoed in my head. What if I died, Lifeless in my bed? What if I died, 'Til dry, my veins bled. What if I died, Then I would be dead. I would be gone, I would be missed, I would never have been kissed. I would be unread, I would be unseen, I would, regrettably, be out of scene. No journals to speak of, No memoirs to count, It seems that my life, Has no accounts. Did I ever live? Did I ever die? No record will remain, To prove such a lie.
