A thespian born

A thespian born

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

One day I arrived here,
on a mushroom spaceship
I was plunged
inside my mother’s
womb; there I grew
a Martian-size dome,
levitated on a tether,
had my meals delivered;
played upside-down
until zero gravity popped
and I saw my first star
and alien, in the Operating
Theater; where I sang
my first soliloquy -
a thespian born, lauded
and adored; meeting
Venus, who even smiled
that I was off key.

Now there is an audience the likes that a Thespian may or may not ever see again. This was clever and funny. Put a smile on my Tuesday morning work face. Loved it!

Good to be a thespian. When you make Venus smile. You did well. Thank you Maxwell for sharing the amazing poetry.

So imaginative. I love your lines about your birth and those first cries you let out. Nice little composition you have here Maxwell.

Chris, it was fun to compose, and more fun that you read it. Cheers
This is soaring way up there amongst your finest! WOWZA! So much imagination & serendipity floating on a river of sentimental fun. There isn't one single line that doesn't have a distinct POP of originality! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
