No longer here

As my eyes flicker open,

I squint in the morning light.

Confused looking for you,

but you’re not here.

My heart races to a panic

as I leap out of bed.

I listen for your cry,

you’re jabbering to realize

you are nowhere to be found.

I scream out your name

There is no reply.

There is silence

Where your little crys once echoed

The emptiness fills everything

Going through the day with no purpose

With no reason to live

And crying myself to sleep

All over again.
