As It Seems

As It Seems

A Poem by Michael (Letters and Lifelines)

There's something here...
I'll let it be...
It's all and then it's nothing,
As it's drifting over me...
But she's like fireworks,
And other night-time sounds...
She shakes with violence.
She has a way to keep me down.

I know,
It's not the way it seems.
And I know,
These signs don't mean a thing.
But where are those feelings now?
The ones you whispered all out loud...
And tell me those secrets now...
Just yell and scream them all out loud.

There's nothing here...
But I refuse to see...
I keep her lost away and hidden,
Under careful lock and key...
But she's like the best thought to have.
Then life, itself, is not so bad...
But these dreams are more like lies-
The nicest things to make you sad.

I know,
It's not the way it seems.
And I know,
These signs don't mean a thing.
But where are those feelings now?
The ones you whispered all out loud...
And tell me those secrets now...
Just yell and scream them all out loud.

I wish I didn't notice...
But it's just as I feared...
You felt all alone...
When I was right here.

I wish I didn't have to say it...
But the words fill my mind...
Please go away...
Because I need you there this time.

I wish I didn't notice...
But it's just as I feared...
You felt all alone...
When I was right here.

I wish I didn't have to say it...
But the words fill my mind...
Please go away...
Because I need you there this time.

It's not the way it seems.
These signs don't mean a thing.
And there's no more feelings now.
So I'll just scream this all out loud-

I wish I didn't notice...
But it's just as I feared...
You felt all alone...
When I was right here.

I wish I didn't have to say it...
But the words fill my mind...

Please go away...

Because I need you there this time.

Thank you Akhila! I'm not sure what the meaning is either to be honest. It is just emotion.

u r welcome
Very emotional. You poured out your emotions in here- the fear, the guilt/ regret.
I see some ironies in here.
Nice piece.

Thank you for reading and for your kind words, Tressa!
"I wish I didn't notice...
But it's just as I feared...
You felt all alone...
When I was right here." -One of the saddest life truths...we can still feel alone with someone there.

Oh, how I wish the world could scream.

Wonderful title- As it Seems (or is it)?

Thank you, Diana!

I wish the world could scream, too.
lots of contradictions really drive the point home...go away because i need you now....this being said it seems, because she never seems to be there, even if she is...and he is very much feeling alone, even when she is right there...her heart isn't in it...maybe the sarcasm would work...maybe she will get the point and come home...really home...with her attention actually focused on the speaker.
