Questions for God

Questions for God

A Poem by Michael (Letters and Lifelines)

Can't you see,
That I've believed,
Through all the times,
That almost changed my mind?
Through all the fires,
And lost desires.
All the scares and chills,
And broken wills.

And like I know you,
Like you're true-
I'm asking why.
But I'm still waiting reply.

And I pray-
Why can't you say,
Why you made it this way?
Why do you give me things,
Just to take them away?
Why did you let me,
Fall this much astray?
I scream that I need you-
But you leave me this way.

And all I asked for,
Was nothing more,
Than just a chance with her.
But you won't let it occur.

And like I know you,
Like you're true-
I'm asking why.
But I'm still waiting reply.

And I pray-
Why can't you say,
Why you made it this way?
Why do you give me things,
Just to take them away?
Why did you let me,
Fall this much astray?
I scream that I need you-
But you leave me this way.

You make it hard to believe,
When you're giving no relief.
You know you're hard to believe.
You make me want to scream.

And I pray-
But I don't know,
If you hear my words from below.
And I find that my feelings,
Are getting harder to show.
Just make this thing easy,
And let it be known-
That some of us here,
Are just meant to be alone.

You make it hard to believe,
When you're giving no relief.
You know you're hard to believe.
You make me want to scream.

If there's something else,
I need to hear,
Just say it.
I am waiting...
If there's something else,
I need to know,
Just say it.
I am waiting...
If there's something else,
That can help me now,
Just say it.
I am waiting...

If there's something else,
I need to hear...

Just say it...

I am waiting.

Very well put, Jacob. Thank you for visiting!
I don't know why I was so touched by this poem. Once in my life I have asked God a question...but now I don't want to make it happen again. I was so guilty when I realized how wrong I was for asking such question...for I have no right to do so. Even He has taken away my loved one's life...I have no right. For everything happens for a reason. And now, I realized His reason for it.

Michael, I hope you understand. There are times we have to understand more than just being understood. There are things in life we ask from Him, and yet we feel we are not heard....but no, he just want to give it at the right time. Perhaps, the time we are asking something from Him is not yet the right time...so we still have to wait. Don't lose hope. That's what I believed for 5 years...I've waited for such long years to understand His will...

This is so emotional. Nice structure. I like how the words and emotions run freely. Keep going.

A powerful poem. Each of us ask questions and receive no answer. Faith can be hard. I like the flow of thoughts and the desire for understanding. I believe in the Native American belief. God is in the kindness and love given without the desire of reward. God is in the new day. God is what make us seek peace and happiness. Thank you for the amazing poetry. Open the door for a long conversation.
