Time To Go

This is a poem I wrote dedicated to my sweet 6 week old nephew who passed away on 01/12/14. Rest In Peace Sweetheart, Mimi loves you, always.!

There is so much left to say,
many tears left to cry.
But I want you to know I'm okay
so please mom, let them dry.

 

I am sorry I cannot stay,
I don't want to say goodbye.
But today is the day,
I earn my wings and fly.

 

The one thing I leave,
is all of my love.
I hope it helps relieve
some of the hurt I speak of.

 

I know for me you may grieve,
though I'm in heaven above.
I know you can't believe.
you're letting go of your son.

 

I am happily free,
my time here is through.
I know you may disagree,
I know you are blue.

 

Please don't be sad for me,
for I now watch over you.
My body you may not see,
But I promise you I do.

This poem is so sad, a son with last words to his mother despite the untimeliness of his death. The rhyme scheme is great (though perhaps forced in some lines). Beautiful words and emotions.

The emotion in this speaks for itself. The parting words of a goodbye are always hard. The term 'goodbye' doesn't have to mean we disappear forever. In one way shape or form we are always still here.
