Fallen Giants

Fallen Giants

A Poem by Nancy
"

my country Nigeria used to be known as the Giants of Africa, we just might be the Earth worm now, However, I'm proudly Nigeria and i believe we will overcome all the strife

"
Drowning in the sea of emotion
Clowning in the midst of confusion
If only they knew
How he flew
Now it's not just only a question of how
But where to plow
.
Wailing in the heat of desperation
Crying in company of their companion
Waiting for an answer
Even as they sit and wonder
.
Green with envy they sit
Cuss words they spit
If only they thought to ask
He would have taken them up to the task.

Author's Note

Nancy
i see a great nation but for leader with poor judgement, proud to ask for help( frown when we are talked about in international news), the citizens are naive and quick to make jokes about every situations and how quickly we adjust to the change forced on us . I know that writing this brings down my country but if writing can help change our lot, wouldn't you agree i should make it the best dang writing
