Whats Right

Whats Right

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

Im trying to think of something to write
but I cant but smirk and laugh a bit
Because all of the feelings I have inside
Are block all my wit

I want to write you lines of love
of admiration, infatuation
But the words keep getting stuck
because all I write is just repetition

I wanna tell you that inside I melt
when you walk upto me, that smile on your face
And you're trying to pretend you're not as excited as me
But seeing you is like Christmas Day

I wanna tell you that my heart doesnt beat
when you're standing by my side
I lose my breath when our lips meet
I hate those goddamn butterflies

I wanna tell you that you're all I see
Any guy in the world, any guy in this place
But the only one I want for me
is staring me right in the face

I wanna tell you, my dreams you invade
althought fast asleep, I feel your touch
and I rest in my bed knowing Im safe
But dreaming of you is never enough

I wanna tell you, youre everything
So fast it seems, so far in between
Hypnotized by a little ding
your voice it seems, captivated me

I wanna tell you, youre the only one
That makes me feel like I am too
And how doing nothing at all is so much fun
Just as long as Im spending my time with you

I wanna tell you youre perfect
And I know I dont know everything
But in my your eyes your heart reflects
Every thought and word that stings

I wanna tell you, Im here to stay
To hold my hand, to make you laugh
Ill tell you now, come what may
youre the best thing from my past

I wanna tell you, there is a future
to sleep in your arms, to kiss your neck
and on my body, your scent lingers
from my head resting on your chest

I guess what I am saying
without trying to repeat myself
is that everything I feel for you
Ive felt for no one else

And every time I hear you
Im taken to a different place
a place where all my dreams come true
atleast, just a little taste

Every time your laughter echos
inside the walls of my head
I drift away a little bit deeper
from the loneliness of my bed

For I will see you someday
and I will take you in my arms
and tell you all the things I wrote here
the manual to my heart

But now Im done being sappy
because its all I seem to write
but you make me want to do this
make me feel what's right
