Shallow Grave

In this shallow grave I turn

I turn to the butterflies-

Flitting by

I turn to Icarus- before he takes his fall

Never heeding his father's call

I turn to the sound of whispers

Telling me of a plan of Lucifer's

I turn to the sunlight

Ushered in through the cracks

I turn to the wolf's howl

And a blind man's loss

I turn-- to an orphan's smile

When all else seems lost

 

In this shallow grave I turn

Till death takes me

And in this shallow grave

I shall always- turn
