Mentor

Never have I had that one person

who I could confide anything in.

Never have I had that older sister, cousin,

or friend who could give me that

special insight.

Doesn't every girl need one?
It's different than your mom, it has to be.

THere is a void without that figure in my life.

So I prayed through my trials,

willing for God to bring me to my help.

It happened one day, in the faintest of ways.

It began over a pair of shoes

and now she knows more about me than I do.

A mentor is someone who is just one

thing:

a confidante

I cannot live my life without

and thank God

my prayers were

answered.
